Changing Lives One Cookie at a Time
A chocolate chip cookie nearly took my life.
On June 5, 1999, while six months pregnant with my son Cameron, I unknowingly ate a cookie containing walnuts and experienced near-fatal anaphylactic shock. Surviving that experience forever changed my perspective on life, gratitude, inclusion, and purpose.
Today, chocolate chip cookies represent something entirely different.
They represent kindness.
They represent inclusion.
They represent hope.
They represent the simple truth that small acts of love can change lives.
Since 1998, my family and I have baked and donated thousands of nut-free chocolate chip cookies to children, families, schools, charities, organizations, and communities across the United States.
Because everyone deserves a seat at the table.
