Ask Elizabeth: Is It Too Late to Change My Life?

ree

Dear Elizabeth,

I’m 52, recently divorced, my kids are grown, and I feel like I missed the window to do what I really wanted with my life. I keep asking myself: Is it too late to change? To start over? To become someone new? I know you’ve written books on change and peace—so I’m hoping you can help.— Feeling Stuck in St. Paul

Dear Feeling Stuck,

Let me tell you something I believe with every fiber of my being:

If you woke up this morning, it’s not too late.

I don’t care if you’re 52, 72, or 92—you are not done growing, becoming, healing, or dreaming. Change doesn’t have an expiration date. Reinvention isn’t reserved for the young. Your next chapter is waiting for you to stop asking “Is it too late?” and start whispering “What if it’s not?”

Real Change Starts with One Brave Question

Here’s a better question to ask yourself:

“What would I love?”

Not what’s practical. Not what other people expect. Not what’s safe. What. Would. You. Love.

Because The Change Guidebook isn’t just a book I wrote—it’s a roadmap I’ve lived. At 40, I began reinventing my life. At 50, I published my first bestselling book. At 56, I co-authored The Peace Guidebook with Dr. Katie Eastman. We’re changing lives globally—and we’re just getting started.

Change Isn’t a Crisis—It’s a Calling

So if you’re feeling stuck, restless, burned out, bored, broken, or unsure… good. It means your soul is knocking. It means something new wants to emerge.

But to step into that change, you have to stop waiting for permission—and start giving yourself grace. Because change is messy. It’s emotional. It’s nonlinear. And it’s also sacred.

What to Do When You’re Ready (But Scared)

Here’s what I want you to do this week:

🌀 Imagine your future self 5 years from now. What does she want? What lights her up? What is she no longer tolerating?

🖊️ Write it down. Even if it feels silly. Even if it scares you.

💛 Take one small, brave step toward her. Call the coach. Submit the proposal. Sign up for the class. Clear the drawer. Cancel the thing that’s draining you. One action. That’s all.

And if you need help, I’m right here.

You’re Never Too Old, Too Behind, or Too Broken to Begin Again

Let this be your sign: It’s not too late. Not too late to love yourself. Not too late to pivot your path. Not too late to become the woman you were always meant to be.

You don’t need to burn your life down to build something beautiful. You just need to believe it’s possible. Then begin.

And I hope you’ll let The Change Guidebook walk with you the whole way.

With love and belief in your Best Ever You,

Elizabeth
