Dear Elizabeth,
No matter how much I achieve, I still feel like I’m not good enough. I constantly compare myself to others and feel like a fraud. How do I stop this pattern?
— Still Struggling with Self-Worth
Dear Struggling with Self-Worth,
First of all—thank you for this beautiful and brave question. I want you to take a deep breath and let these words land:
You are enough. Right now. Just as you are.
Imposter syndrome and comparison are sneaky thieves. They creep in when you’re doing well and try to convince you that you’re not. They whisper lies like:
“You don’t belong here.”
“Everyone else has it figured out.”
“You’ll be found out.”
But here’s the truth: The very fact that you care so deeply, reflect so honestly, and keep showing up is proof of your strength—not your lack.
Let’s shift this together.
💡 Here’s what I recommend:
1. Anchor in What’s Real. When doubt shows up, ask yourself:
“What’s the truth—not the fear?”
Create a “confidence file” where you keep reminders of the truth: kind words people have shared, wins you’ve had (even the small ones), and anything that reflects your authentic strength.
2. Flip the Script. That voice saying “I’m not good enough”? Flip it.
Try this instead:
“I am learning.” “I am growing.” “I am becoming.” “I am worthy because I exist—not because I perform.”
3. Reframe Comparison. Comparison is a story we tell ourselves that someone else is more valuable. But the truth? No one else has your exact path, gifts, or heart. Ask yourself:
“What is this comparison showing me about what I value?”
Use it as gentle insight—not judgment.
4. Take Up Space. You don’t have to shrink, over-explain, or prove yourself to belong. You already do. You’re not here to be a carbon copy of someone else. You’re here to be fully you—real, evolving, and extraordinary.
You’re not a fraud. You’re not behind. You’re not alone.
You are growing—and that is a courageous place to be.
Stay rooted in your truth. Stay close to your heart. You’re doing better than you think.
With love,
Elizabeth
